Ultra-low jitter clock synthesiser

A low phase noise integer-N synthesiser with an integrated VCO and an ultra-low jitter clock distribution section has been introduced by Linear Technology that is well suited for clocking data converters. The LTC6951 features four current mode logic (CML) outputs, each equipped with an independent low noise clock divider and digital delay block to cover a wide frequency range between 1.95MHz and 2,700MHz.

µModule regulator drives LEDs, supercaps, lasers & peltiers

Linear introduces the LTM8064, a step-down DC/DC µModule regulator with a 6V to 58V (60VMAX) input voltage range and adjustable load current control with ±10% accuracy at 7A. The LTM8064 can be used as a point-of-load step-down regulator operating from 24, 36 and 48V voltage rails used in communication infrastructure, high end computers, test equipment, automotive, avionics and a wide variety of industrial equipment.

Diode-OR controller for high power telecom

A rugged diode-OR controller for dual feed high power telecom and datacom boards has been introduced by Linear Technology. The LTC4371 provides seamless hand-off between redundant power supplies, replacing power Schottky diodes and associated heat sinks with N-channel MOSFETs, significantly reducing power loss, voltage drop and solution size.

Multiprotocol transceiver cuts part count in RS485/RS232 systems

Linear Technology Corporation introduces the LTC2873, an RS485/RS232 multiprotocol transceiver in a small 20mm² package. The LTC2873 integrates all the functions necessary to provide the most compact multiprotocol IC available today. Supporting ±26kV HBM ESD bus protection, the LTC2873 provides a robust software-selectable interface for 3 to 5.5V systems.

Step-down DC/DC converter delivers 93% efficiency

Combining two high voltage 2.5 and 1.5A channels with a lower voltage 1.8A channel to deliver three independent voltage outputs as low as 0.8V, Linear Technology announces the LT8601. The 42V input capable, high efficiency triple output synchronous monolithic step-down switching regulator uses synchronous rectification topology to deliver up to 93% efficiency.

Wideband mixer delivers IF bandwidth from DC to 6GHz

The LTC5548, a double balanced mixer that operates either as an up- or downconverter with a wide frequency range from 2 to 14GHz, has been introduced by Linear Technology. The LTC5548 features integrated balun transformers at the RF and LO ports, providing 50Ω match from 2 to 13.6GHz and from 1 to 12GHz at each port, respectively, while enabling single-ended operation.

Linear Technology Corporation introduces the LTM4650, a dual 25A or single 50A output step-down µModule regulator with onboard shielded inductors, MOSFETs and a dual DC/DC regulator IC housed in a small thermally enhanced plastic package. The device is offered in a 16x16x5.01mm BGA with a patented built-in heat sink.

Silent switcher delivers 94% efficiency at 2MHz

Linear Technology Corporation announces the LT8641, a 3.5A, 65V input capable synchronous step-down switching regulator. A unique Silent Switcherarchitecture, combined with spread spectrum frequency modulation, reduces EMI/EMC emissions by more than 25dB even with switching frequencies in excess of 2MHz, enabling it to easily pass the automotive CISPR25 class 5 peak and average limits.

The LTM8067 and LTM8068 include an isolating transformer, control circuitry, power switches and other supporting components in a 9x11.25x4.92mm BGA package. 8-Channel multiplexed SAR ADC operates over -16.5 to 34V

Linear Technology introduces the LTC2335-18, an 18-bit, 8-channel 1Msps multiplexed input Successive Approximation Register (SAR) ADC with independently configurable input ranges. Each SoftSpan input can be software configured on a conversion-by-conversion basis to accept ±10.24V, 0V to 10.24V, ±5.12V or 0V to 5.12V true bipolar input signals.

Common mode difference amplifier offers 97dB min CMRR

Linear introduces the LT6375, a unity-gain difference amplifier with integrated precision matched resistors, which precisely level shifts and buffers small difference signals while rejecting up to ±270V common mode. The A-grade version achieves unprecedented performance: CMRR is 97dB (min), initial gain error is 35ppm (max), gain drift is 1ppm/°C (max) and gain nonlinearity is 2ppm (max) with a common mode divide ratio of 25:1.

The LTC3649 is a high efficiency, 60V, 4A synchronous buck regulator incorporating a constant frequency, current mode architecture and programmable output current and output voltage, which are set with a single external resistor. The LTC3649 operates from an input voltage range of 3.1 to 60V and provides an adjustable rail-to-rail output voltage range from 0 to 0.5V below VIN, while delivering up to 4A of continuous output current.
