SiC MOSFETs targeted at industrial and automotive markets
Microsemi Corporation, provider of semiconductor solutions differentiated by power, security, reliability and performance, has announced sampling availability of the first product in its next-generation 1200V Silicon Carbide (SiC) MOSFETs, the 40mOhm MSC040SMA120B. The release of the complementary 1200V SiC Schottky barrier diodes (SBDs), has also been announced further expanding Microsemi's growing SiC discretes and modules portfolios.

Aerospace power core module with integrated FPGA
Microsemi announced its aerospace power core module (PCM) with an integrated field programmable gate array (FPGA) and hybrid power drive (HPD) stage. The PCM controls the electrical motors used in applications such as primary flight control actuation, landing gear systems and other systems. The device interfaces seamlessly with both aircraft power supplies and flight controllers, providing vital sensor feedback for health monitoring.

Microsemi Corporation has announced a recent member of its high-reliability space product portfolio, the LX7710 radiation-tolerant diode array. The LX7710 is the industry’s first integrated solution of its kind offering eight diode pair channels designed specifically for satellites and other space applications. The company also announced its AAHS298B radiation-tolerant source driver has achieved Qualified Manufacturers List (QML) Class V and QML Class Q qualifications from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land and Maritime.

FPGAs have achieved AEC-Q100 grade 2 qualification

Low power, flash-based FPGAs and ARM Cortex-M3 enabled SoC FPGAs, which have achieved AEC-Q100 grade 2 qualification, have been released by Microsemi. According to the company, the automotive-grade qualified SmartFusion2 and IGLOO2 devices are the only devices in the industry to offer advanced security and high reliability features critical for automotive applications.

EV car charger solution features V2G communication

Microsemi and STMicroelectronics have contributed to the development of an EV car charger solution targeted at IoT system designers. Featuring V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) communication and support for a wide range of network and application protocols,Tatung's module for EV supply equipment utilises Microsemi’s Le87501 PLC line driver and ST’s ST2100 STreamPlug SoC. The solution, which is supported by the OpenV2G software stack, also utilises a new proprietary state machine, event-driven-based digital power controller.

SiC MOSFETs for high-voltage industrial applications

Designed for high-power industrial applications where efficiency is critical, Microsemi has introduced its silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFET product family with 1200V solutions. Typical applications for the APT40SM120B, APT40SM120J, APT50SM120B and APT50SM120J include solutions for solar inverters, electric vehicles, welding and medical devices.
