Upcoming releases of Mentor Graphics’ GENIVI Linux compliant Automotive Technology Platform will come pre-integrated with CSR Synergy software. This combination will provide a complete software solution for a range of wireless connectivity technologies including Bluetooth, Bluetooth Smart and Wi-Fi.

CSR plc today announces the launch of the first AEC-Q100 qualified single mode Bluetooth Smart embedded device for automotive applications, CSR1010 auto. The device will service existing and upcoming wireless applications in the vehicle as part of a complete Bluetooth v4.0 based end-to-end solution. It will also increase the integration of smartphones and other consumer devices into the driving experience of the future. CSR plc today announces the launch of the CSRC9300, the first auto-grade chipset to combine Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v4.0 connectivity with audio capabilities. The complete solution will enable car manufacturers to deliver future connected car applications, such as Miracast over 5Ghz, and keyless entry using Bluetooth v4.0. The chipset will be demonstrated for the first time on CSR’s stand #65 at Telematics Detroit 2013 from 5 - 6 June.

CSR plc today announced availability of the CSR6030A11, its most powerful and feature-rich automotive-qualified standalone Wi-Fi solution. CSR introduced the CSR6000 family of automotive-grade platforms in April 2011 and, in close collaboration with automotive manufacturers, has since continued updating the company’s Wi-Fi solution to meet and exceed customer expectations. Representing a significant R&D investment, CSR’s new automotive Wi-Fi solution offers a number of significant advancements. In addition to improvements to the Wi-Fi performance, the CSR6030A11 offers “Concurrent Network Mode” – the capability to support Wi-Fi connectivity on two networks at the same time. In addition, CSR6030A11 is Wi-Fi Direct compliant, meaning that the CSR6030A11 can connect directly to other Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Wi-Fi Direct devices without relying on a hotspot for that connection. These capabilities give system designers greatly increased flexibility in supporting a much greater range of network topologies and use cases within the rapidly-changing, in-car consumer communications and entertainment environment.

CSR Opens New Automotive Systems Development and Applications Centre in Ingolstadt, Germany

CSR plc today announced the opening of the CSR Automotive Systems Development and Applications Centre in Ingolstadt, Southern Germany. CSR acquired the facility, which was built by TEMIC Telefunken Hochfrequenztechnik GmbH, a provider of RF system solutions for auto-infotainment and consumer products, as part of its merger with Zoran Corporation last year. Close to the major German automotive OEM’s and Tier One suppliers, the Ingolstadt facility is also only a short distance from CSR customers in the automotive centres throughout Europe.

CSR and Livio Team to Reinvent the Car Radio

CSR plc and Livio Radio today announced they have teamed to reinvent the car radio. It will now be possible for next-generation in-car infotainment systems to receive thousands of Internet radio streams wirelessly from a smartphone and be able to control and play them without the driver having to touch the handset. In doing so, the collaboration has solved two major problems that have hampered in-vehicle Internet radio access: harnessing the large number of Internet radio content providers and creating a well-defined way for the in-vehicle entertainment system to control and play the content, allowing greater driving safety.
