Following an exceptional first-place finish at the tough Six Hours of Mexico, the Mouser-sponsored Vaillante Rebellion racing team now turns its attention stateside as it prepares for the 6 Hours of COTA at Lone Star Le Mans, set for September 16 at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. The Vaillante Rebellion No. 31 car quickly made its way to the front of the LMP2 pack, trading the lead spot several times before driver Bruno Senna returned to the cockpit to pace out the competition at the end of the race.

The team is well positioned to make a run for the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship title with four races left in the nine-race season. The race at Lone Star Le Mans poses a unique challenge, with temperatures in Austin averaging 90 degrees F (32 degrees C) making the Circuit of the Americas the warmest venue so far this year.

In the race for the Endurance Trophy for LMP2 Teams, the Vaillante Rebellion No. 31 car, piloted by Senna, Nico Prost and Julien Canal, had a solid hold on second place going into Mexico City. Vaillante Rebellion’s No. 13 car, driven by Nelson Piquet, Jr., Mathias Beche and David Heinemeier Hansson, is among a tightly packed group just short of the top three.

“Coming off a fantastic first-place finish in Mexico and second-place finish at Nürburgring, the Vaillante Rebellion team is performing exceptionally,” said Todd McAtee, Mouser’s Vice President of Americas Business Development. “Mouser welcomes the team to Texas and we wish them luck on the COTA track.”

A capacity crowd of 120,000 is expected at the track just southeast of Austin. The challenging 3.4-mile course features 20 turns and runs counterclockwise, while many international venues track clockwise.

Mouser is proud to partner with valued supplier LEMO, a global leader in the design and production of precision custom connection solutions, to sponsor Vaillante Rebellion for the entire 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship season. Mouser distributes the full line of quality LEMO connector solutions including their original push-pull connectors.

Racing is all about speed and endurance, and racing sponsorships are an innovative way for Mouser to communicate its performance-driven business model and promote the newest technologies from its manufacturer partners.

The Mouser-backed Rebellion team ran away with the crown in the LMP1 Privateer Class in 2016. After Austin, the series travels to Fuji, Japan, on Oct. 15 and Shanghai on Nov. 5, before ending the season at Sakhir, Bahrain, on Nov. 18.
