IPETRONIK have today announced a new advanced version of the company's established fleet data logger, FLEETlog2. Designed to meet all road trial requirements in the automotive and commercial vehicle sectors, the FLEETlog2 CAN bus data logger is suited for individual test requirements as well as those of fleet testing.

Fully customizable, the basic data logger model is extended by numerous additional hardware and software options including multiple storage groups, up to four CAN measurement inputs, protocol and traffic measurement, classification, fleet management, and wireless options such as integrated WiFi client, modem and GPS component.

Saving to an exchangeable CompactFlash card of up to 32 GByte, FLEETlog2 collects vehicle data and processes it online. It is also possible to define different storage groups and trigger conditions. Optional CAN protocols are CCP, XCPonCAN, KWPonCAN, UDS, J19393 or OBD II. Normally exchanged on USB or LAN, data can be exchanged using GPRS/UMTS/3G and/or WLAN 802.11 b/g, depending on integrated hardware options. FLEETlog2 provides the option of an integrated GPS receiver for position determination via satellite.

Featuring two digital inputs and two digital outputs as well as intelligent power management via WakeonCAN function, the data logger runs the RTOS-32 real-time operating system
fitted with the proven acquisition software TESTdrive. Using the LOG2PC function, users can exchange and visualize acquisition and configuration data via LAN. In the same way, data acquisition can be configured online and remote measurement start/stop can be performed using a PC. The transfer of online acquisition data to IPEmotion, ETAS INCA, Vector CANape and many more software applications occurs by means of CAN or XCPonETH. The Windows software IPEmotion allows a comfortable definition of all the settings related to the acquisition configuration.

Operating over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, the FLEETlog2 enclosure in the typical golden IPETRONIK design uses dimensions of 141 mm x 37 mm x 180 mm (W x H x D) and supports IP54 protection class. While power input is typically 7.5 Watt, a supply voltage in the range of 9 VDC to 36 VDC is required.

The enclosure has no rotating mechanical parts, such as fans or hard disks. All CAN, LAN and digital inputs and outputs are galvanically isolated from each other. Operating elements and plug-in modules like SIM card or CompactFlash are located behind a protecting flap. Plug connections are compatible with M-LOG PR08 and IPElog data loggers.
