The US Department of Commerce has unveiled a $1.5 billion funding initiative for GlobalFoundries (GF) under the US CHIPS and Science Act.

GlobalFoundries (GF) and Microchip Technology, via Microchip’s Silicon Storage Technology (SST) subsidiary, announce the immediate release to production of the SST ESF3 third-generation embedded SuperFlash technology NVM solution in the GF 28SLPe foundry process.

GlobalFoundries and STMicroelectronics have announced the conclusion of the agreement to create a new, jointly-operated, high-volume semiconductor manufacturing facility in Crolles (France), which was announced on 11th July 2022.

GLOBALFOUNDRIES today announced it is offering its BCDlite foundry technology optimized for automotive applications such as power management devices, audio amplifiers, displays and LED driver integrated circuits (ICs). Built on a proven process used in high-volume manufacturing for consumer applications, the 0.18um technology is a comprehensive, modular platform that offers an unprecedented combination of performance and cost.
