Crisis In Auto Industry Today, Maintaining The Lead In Skills And Innovation Tomorrow

Today in Brussels, the CEOs of four of Europe's automobile manufacturers, European Commissioners and MEPs came together to discuss 'Innovation for Europe, Skills for the Future' with 40 young Europeans. This debate was held in the framework of Our Future Mobility Now (OFMN), a youth project launched by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) last year in order to look into the future of transport and mobility through the eyes of young people.

Tough CO2 targets for auto industry in difficult economic times

Harrie Schippers (DAF) to chair ACEA Commercial Vehicle Board

Harrie Schippers, President of DAF Trucks, will chair the ACEA Commercial Vehicle Board in 2012. Schippers takes over from Alfredo Altavilla, CEO of IVECO S.p.A, who led the CV Board in 2011. The Commercial Vehicle Board elects a new Chairman every year.

European auto makers pave way for uniform system of e-vehicle charging

The European automobile manufacturers have defined a comprehensive set of recommendations to standardise the charging of electrically-chargeable vehicles. The joint industry proposal will enable the use of one type of plug independent of car make, electricity provider or country.
