Designed for use in automotive, military and aerospace applications, the XP5 is the latest miniature pressure sensor from Measurement Specialties. Featuring SanShift technology that eliminates zero shifts caused by installation torque, the sensor features linearity to ±0.25% full scale output at 5-350bar and ±0.5% full scale output for lower ranges.

The XP5 features a body and flush diaphragm constructed of titanium which makes it suitable for use in environments involving measurements in corrosive liquids and gases (as well as automotive, military and aerospace, this includes rugged onboard equipment monitoring applications). Additionally, the sensor is laser welded to provide increased durability.

The core sensing technology of the pressure sensor consists of a temperature-compensated Wheatstone bridge with high stability micro-machined silicon strain gauges. This technology allows users to select various levels, dependant upon available options. Suitable for both static and dynamic applications, the XP5 is available in absolute, sealed and gauge configurations of 1-70bar. A sealed format is also available for up to 350bar.

Operating over a temperature range from -40 to +120°C, the XP5 is rated to IP50 for limited ingress dust protection and conforms to EN 61010-1, EN 50081-1 and EN 50082-1. Featuring M5x0.8 or 10-32UNF-2A thread screw mounting, the frequency response in a non-amplified XP5 is 108-700kHz.

Design flexibility and sensor customisation for specific application requirements is possible thanks to options which include an onboard amplifier for ranges of 5-350bar as well as a custom temperature probe for all ranges. Measurement Specialties also offers IP67 and IP68 versions upon request.

The XP5 miniature pressure sensor is available now. Contact Measurement Specialties for pricing and delivery information.
