The DC/DC converter provides transfer of energy between the higher voltage battery and the lower voltage (typically 12V) systems. The higher voltage system supplies large loads such as traction motor, air-conditioning and starters, where as lower power components such as infotainment and safety systems will remain on 12V supplies.

The voltage reference produces a constant voltage to the microcontroller irrespective of the loading, power supply variations, temperature changes and the passage of time.

It characterises the internal DAC and ADC measurements from the temperature, voltage and current sensing circuits.
