TI introduces industry's first single-chip battery management device for e-bike applications
Texas Instruments Incorporated introduced the industry's first fully integrated battery protection and cell-balancing solution for Li-Ion and lithium iron phosphate battery packs. The bq77910 battery management and protection device can manage 4- to 10-cell battery packs, and two devices can be stacked to protect 11- to 20-cell packs. The device simplifies battery pack designs for e-bikes, e-scooters, portable gardening tools, power tools and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and can also be used when replacing lead acid batteries. ON Semiconductor Expands its Automotive LDO Voltage Regulator Portfolio with Five New Integrated Devices
ON Semiconductor announced the launch of five new very low and ultra low-dropout (LDO) linear voltage regulators to address a wide range of automotive applications such as rear camera modules, instrument clusters, and body and chassis applications. These new devices deliver 150 milliamperes (mA) of output current, in space saving integrated solutions that meet the latest requirements from car manufacturers for very low quiescent currents when the ignition is switched off.

Synchronous Step-Down DC/DC Controller Using Nonlinear Control & Differential Output Sensing for Tight Output Voltage Regulation
Linear Technology Corporation introduces the LTC3867, a fixed frequency synchronous step-down DC/DC controller with nonlinear control, differential output voltage sensing and clock synchronization. Nonlinear control minimizes the output voltage excursion during load transient events by increasing the operating frequency, allowing the LTC3867 to recover from a large load step in only a few cycles. This feature reduces the maximum deviation from nominal by up to 50% compared to traditional controllers. The LTC3867’s 4V to 38V input range encompasses a wide variety of applications including most intermediate bus voltages. Strong onboard N-channel MOSFET gate drivers allow the use of high power external MOSFETs for high load current, up to 25A. The output voltage range is 0.6V to 14V, making the LTC3867 ideal for telecom, datacom, automotive and industrial applications.

Linear Technology Corporation announces the H- and MP- grade versions of the LTC3851A, a wide input voltage range (4V to 38V) synchronous step-down DC/DC controller that encompasses a broad range of applications, including most intermediate bus voltages and battery chemistries. The strong onboard MOSFET gate drivers enable the use of high power external MOSFETs to produce output currents up to 25A with output voltages ranging from 0.8V to 5.5V, ideal for point-of-load requirements. These H- and MP-grade versions are tested and guaranteed to operating junction temperature ranges from -40°C to 150°C and -55°C to 150°C, respectively. Applications include automotive systems, industrial, medical, datacom and telecom.

30V Buck Switching Regulator From Microchip Enables High Efficiencies and Compact Designs

Microchip Technology Inc today announced the MCP16301—Microchip’s first 30V-input, buck switching regulator with 600 milliampere (mA) output capability. The MCP16301 features a wide input voltage range, from 4V to 30V, an output voltage range from 2V to 15V and provides up to 95 percent efficiency. The 600 mA MCP16301 is offered in a 6-pin SOT-23 package with an integrated high-side switch, and requires a minimal number of external components. It is ideal for applications in the automotive, industrial, telecommunications and consumer markets, such as set-top boxes, LED lighting, HVAC systems and power meters.
