The event will focus on Glasgow’s pioneering work on smart citiesand the city’s, and Scotland’s, long history of innovation in intelligent traffic control.

“Over recent years smart sustainable citiesand sustainable transporthave figured on both the conference agenda and the exhibition show floor at All-Energy,” explains Event Director, Jonathan Heastie of organisers Reed Exhibitions. “It is now time to spread the net wider and launch SUMS 2017 alongside All-Energy as a co-located event.

Smart Urban Mobility Solutions is aimed at representatives from cities, local / regional / national governments and authorities as well as transport authorities; city and transport infrastructure contractors; decision makers and advisors from private ventures; large utility groups; investors and technologists. These visitors will be able to register free of charge for SUMS 2017 and also visit All-Energy (or vice versa).

“SUMS 2017, which is supported by Glasgow City Council, includes an exhibitionand a two-day conference programme, will focus on the growing demand for new and emerging smart mobility technologies within existing transportation infrastructures - just one of the many challenges facing today’s cities. In this age of rapid change, intelligent strategies are required and efficient use and control of mobility solutions are of prime importance. The Transport System Catapult puts the estimated global market value at £900bn by 2025.”

The Call for Papers for SUMS 2017 is open on the SUMS website - Abstracts will be accepted on all topics that the event will be covering and any others that prospective speakers believe to be relevant to the show’s audience. Closing date for abstracts is Thursday 15th December.

The exhibition, and conference programme, will feature key technologies and topics including:

  • Connected vehicles.
  • Highly and fully automated driving.
