DDU 7 is based on the same platform as the existing DDU 8 Performance Line dash logger and integrates a freely programmable colour dashboard with a data logging system. The 5.7-inch, full-colour, trans-reflective TFT display is combined with ten multicolour LEDs, which along with the display pages are fully configurable.
The unit allows for synchronised acquisition and visualisation of engine data from the ECU and chassis data from six analogue and four digital wheel-speed input channels. Additional input devices can be connected via Ethernet and two CAN buses. Recorded data from the internal 2GB flash memory can be downloaded via high speed Ethernet.
An increased display size will support further applications, for example rallying, and the DDU 7 features a lightweight synthetic material housing with an optional upgrade offering data recording on a removable USB flash drive.
The DDU 7 joins Bosch’s range of control units, dashboard instruments and data loggers, which can be easily adapted to individual vehicles. The Bosch Motorsport division also works closely with manufacturers to develop bespoke solutions for specific customer needs.
The Bosch stand will feature the new Aston Martin Vantage GT4, which is fitted with the race-developed Bosch Motorsport ABS M4 and traction control system.
Bosch can trace its earliest victories back 111 years ago to 1901, when its magneto ignition devices were first fitted to racing cars. Its gasoline injection systems featured in many prominent race vehicles of the 1960s, as well as in Formula 1 cars of the 1980s along with its ECUs. More recently, Bosch common-rail diesel technology has had major successes in Le Mans 24-hour races, with cars using this technology winning from 2006 to 2011.
Bosch Motorsport experts will be on hand during the show and visitors can benefit from the UK team’s 23 years of experience in motorsport, including over 10 years working in Formula 1.
