Speeding time to market in a variety of electronic systems, Vishay Intertechnology has released the MCW 0406 AT (LCW AT 96/4) and MCT 0603 AT (LCT AT 96/4) laboratory sample kits for the company's automotive-grade precision thin film chip resistors. The two sample kits aid engineers in prototyping with roughly 100 of the most popular resistance values in the 0406 and 0603 case sizes.

With 0.1% tolerance and temperature coefficient of ±25ppm/K, the MCW 0406 AT (LCW AT 96/4) offers 20 resistors for every fourth value of the E-96 series with resistance ranges from 47Ω-100kΩ and the MCT 0603 AT (LCT AT 96/4) offers 20 resistors for every fourth value of the E-96 series from 47Ω-511 kΩ. The laboratory sample kits supply a total of 1,600 and 1,960 resistors, respectively, giving engineers the freedom to experiment until they've found the perfect fit for their designs.

The AEC-Q200-qualifed resistors (qualification is pending for the MCW 0406 package) are enclosed in cardboard tape on clearly labeled six-ring A5 binder pages, sorted in ascending order of resistance value. Typical applications for the MCW 0406 AT (LCW AT 96/4) and MCT 0603 AT (LCT AT 96/4) include engine control units, gearbox controls, climate control, and safety and power supply systems; and battery management, measurement control, and steering technology.

Suitable for precision amplifiers in automotive and industrial electronics, sensors and scales, telecommunication base stations, and medical equipment, Vishay's precision chip resistors deliver accurate and stable performance and are built on advanced thin film technology. The MCW 0406 AT (LCW AT 96/4) kit offers high power capability of 0.250W at +70°C and the MCT 0603 AT (LCT AT 96/4) kit provides high power capability of 0.150W at +70°C.

The RoHS-compliant devices in the kits offer lead-free solder terminations. The MCT 0603 AT (LCT AT 96/4) is approved according to EN 140401-801, and both kits are available now with typical lead times of three weeks.
