The TAS6421-Q1 evaluation module from Texas Instruments showcases the industry's first 2.1MHz 1-Ch Digital Input Class-D Audio solution for Automotive Infotainment applications. TAS6421-Q1’s 2.1MHz switching frequency allows customers to significantly reduce inductor size and cost and optimise total system cost.

The device provides one channel at 27W into 4Ω at 10% THD+N and 45 W into 2 Ω at 10% THD+N from a 14.4V supply and 75W into 4 Ω at 10% THD+N from a 25-V supply.

TAS6421-Q1’s wide supply voltage capabilities, from 4.5-V to 26-V, makes it ideal for head unit and external amplifier systems while delivering top-of-the-line performance during start-stop low voltage transient events. TAS6421-Q1 integrates I2C diagnostics and protection to match and surpass the highest standards for automotive quality and reliability.

TAS6421-Q1 CISPR25-L5 compliant EMC performance simplifies system design, lowers development cost and accelerates time-to-market delivery. TAS6421-Q1 EVM features: Optical SPDIF, USB and external I2S or TDM input options and On-board USB-I2C controller for GUI driven EVM evaluation.
