dSPACE has expanded its SCALEXIO hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) system by introducing the DS2690 Digital I/O Board, designed especially for body electronics. The DS2690 provides a high number of digital channels that cover all variants and functions of digital I/O signals.
User-Defined I/O Functionality
The flexibility to easily reprogram the functionality of the I/O channels lets users quickly adapt the HIL test system to different electronic control units (ECUs). Body electronics ECUs with flexible I/O definitions matching variants of a vehicle platform can now be easily tested with the same HIL.

Integrated Fault Testing
Connecting real loads and substitute loads to the DS2690 allows users to execute ECU tests under realistic conditions. Just like all other SCALEXIO boards, the DS2690 provides an integrated failure routing unit (FRU) to perform failure simulation. The new hardware therefore integrates seamlessly into the existing SCALEXIO failure simulation concept.

Easy Configuration
The DS2690 provides a large number of digital input and output channels and can easily be integrated into a SCALEXIO system. The configuration is performed graphically and conveniently with dSPACE's software ConfigurationDesk. As a result, the SCALEXIO system can easily be adapted to different ECU variants, regardless of whether individual ECU tests or integration tests of several networked ECUs are performed.
