One of the largest commercial trucking fleet operators in the world has has placed a reservation for 125 of Tesla’s new fully electric semi tractors. The new tractors will join UPS’s alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicle fleet, comprised of trucks and tractors propelled by electricity, natural gas, propane and other non-traditional fuels.

Elon Musk drives early release of Tesla Model 3 electric car
The first Tesla Model 3 electric car for the masses should come off the assembly line on Friday with the first deliveries in late July, the company's CEO said. CEO Elon Musk, in several Twitter messages early Monday, said the new car passed all government regulatory requirements for production to begin two weeks ahead of schedule. The company plans to hold a party to hand over the first 30 Model 3s to customers on July 28th, Musk wrote in a tweet.

Chinese researchers have managed to control the brakes, lights and mirrors within a Tesla Model S from afar, while the cars are moving and up to 20km (12 miles) away. The researchers also claim that their efforts will work on multiple Tesla models – they have withheld details of the world first zero day attacks and privately disclosed the flaws to Tesla.

The much anticipated Model 3 has been launched by Tesla, and with a price tag of £24,423 and a claimed range of around 215 miles per charge, it’s the company’s lowest cost vehicle to date. The price tag puts the vehicle within the average cost bracket for the US auto market, making the car a far more realistic proposition for the average person.

In October 2014 Tesla started equipping their Model S electric vehicle with hardware to allow for the incremental introduction of self-driving technology: a forward radar, a forward-looking camera, 12 long-range ultrasonic sensors positioned to sense 16ft around the car in every direction at all speeds and a high-precision digitally-controlled electric assist braking system.
