Compact high-current chokes for 48-V automotive power systems
TDK Corporation presents the new BCEM series of EPCOS high-current chokes designed specifically for buck-boost converters in 48-V automotive power systems. These innovative SMD inductors have very compact dimensions of only 27.5 mm x 29.5 mm x 14.5 mm thanks to their ERU27 ferrite cores with flat windings. The new chokes feature inductance values of 3 µH to 11 µH and are designed for saturation currents of up to 50 A and operating temperatures of between -40 °C and +150 °C. The components are suited for switching frequencies from 100 kHz to 200 kHz, are RoHS-compatible and are qualified to AEC-Q200.

  Designed for automotive electronics, two SMT current sense transformers have been introduced by TDK. Based on an EP7 ferrite core, the B78417A2185A003 is designed to measure pulse currents of up to 20A. DC resistance is 1.3mΩ on the primary side and 3.7Ω on the secondary side.

NP0-based MLCCs offer a tolerance of ±30ppm/K up to +150°C
Now claiming to offer the industry’s broadest portfolio of NP0 products in terms of voltage range and capacitance range, TDK has expanded its CGA series of automotive-grade MLCCs based on NP0 ceramics. The devices, which are rated from 250 to 630V, feature a temperature coefficient of 0 and a tolerance of ±30ppm/K up to +150°C.

A series of 3-terminal feedthrough filters, designed to meet automotive demands for EMC components in emerging safety and infotainment applications, has been introduced by TDK Corporation. Available in case sizes EIA 0603 to EIA 1206, the filters have rated capacitance values ranging from 22pF to 1μF and rated voltages from 10V to 100V.

Automotive ethernet common-mode choke is world's smallest

A new series of common-mode chokes for automotive Ethernet have today been presented by TDK. Featuring the world’s best common-mode noise suppression, the new ACT45L series has a footprint of just 4.5 mm x 3.2 mm and an insertion height of just 2.8 mm. Fulfilling the standard’s stiffest requirements, the miniaturized ACT45L series is the world’s smallest common-mode choke for automotive Ethernet.

The world's smallest with compact dimensions of just 3.2 mm x 2.5 mm x 2.4 mm, TDK introduce the new ACT1210 series of common-mode chokes for both CAN and FlexRay bus systems. Operating over a wide temperature range from -55 °C to +150 °C, the ACT1210 series chokes are qualified to AEC-Q200, making them ideal for use under severe conditions such as those encountered in the engine compartment of a vehicle.

TDK Corporation presents the new CGA3EA series of automotive grade MLCCs that meet the ESD immunity requirements according to the IEC 61000-4-2 standard. The new components are available in package size 1608 (EIA 0603) and offer rated capacitances ranging from 1 nF to 10 nF and a rated voltage of 100 V. The new series comprises two lineups of MLCCs with different thermal characteristics: C0G components with a temperature range of -55°C to +125°C and a temperature coefficient of 0 ±30 ppm/°C max., and NP0 components with a temperature range of -55°C to +150°C and the same temperature coefficient.

TDK has expanded its TPL series of transponder coils with a new miniature version that is especially designed for use as an antenna coil in tire pressure monitoring systems for vehicles. Measuring in at just 7.85 mm x 2.70 mm x 2.70 mm the new TDK TPL802727 transponder coil offers the same high level of performance as existing components in the TPL series.

TDK Corporation presents a new series of rugged EPCOS axial-lead aluminum electrolytic capacitors for automotive electronics. These components are distinguished by their very high ripple current capability and vibration resistance. Thanks to the very low ESR values and a further reduction in internal thermal resistance, the self-heating of the new B41689* series is significantly lower. This allows the ripple current capability to be increased by 50 percent compared to standard axial-lead series. As a result, fewer parallel connected capacitors are required for extreme requirements, which not only helps to reduce costs but also to increase reliability. This series of axial-lead capacitors achieves the same ripple current capability of single-ended capacitors with 60 percent less volume.

Portfolio of automotive-grade C0G mid-voltage MLCCs expanded
TDK Corporation has expanded its leading portfolio of automotive-grade MLCCs with new mid-voltage types featuring C0G temperature characteristics and rated voltages from 100 V to 630 V. The new components in the CGA series offer capacitance values that are very high for C0G components. In particular, the IEC 5750 (EIA 2220) MLCC with dimensions of 5.7 mm x 5.0 mm has a capacitance of 100 nF and is rated for 630 V, which is the world’s highest voltage rating for a capacitor of this size and capacitance.*

TDK Corporation has expanded its CKG series of MEGACAP Type MLCCs to include miniature 1608 to 3216 (EIA 0603 to 1206) packages. Until now these MLCCs were available only in 3225 to 5750 packages (EIA 1210 to 2220). With dimensions of only 1.9 x 1.3 x 1.5 mm³ the new 1608 components are the world’s smallest automotive-grade MLCCs in the mega cap class.

TDK Corporation presents the new CGA1 series of 0603 (EIA 0201) MLCCs for use in automotive electronics applications. With dimensions of only 0.6 x 0.3 x 0.3 mm³, the new components offer rated voltages from 6.3 V to 50 V, thus including the world’s first 0603 X7R MLCC with a rated voltage of 50 V. The 0603 package is the smallest used by the automotive industry.
