SP & cache configurations enable smart automotive sensors

Synopsys has announced the extension of its Safety Enhancement Package (SEP) to DesignWare ARC EM processors that include cache support and DSP acceleration. SGS-TÜV Saar, an independent accredited assessor, formally certified VCS Functional Verification solution, Certitude functional qualification solution and Verdi Debug solution with verification planning and coverage, following an industry-standard Functional Safety Tool Qualification.

Synopsys extends verification IP portfolio for automotive applications

Synopsys has announced the expansion of its VC Verification IP (VIP) portfolio with CAN 2.0/FD/TT (ISO 16845 compliant), LIN, FlexRay and Ethernet Audio Video Bridging (AVB) protocols for the verification of automotive applications. These verification IP titles include test suites and spec-linking technology required to verify compliance to automotive standards.

Synopsys releases LucidShape & LucidDrive Version 2.1

Synopsys has announced the availability of version 2.1 of its LucidShape and LucidDrive software products for the design and virtual-reality simulation of automotive exterior lighting. Synopsys LucidShape version 2.1 introduces upgraded interfaces to its TreeView structure and Visualize Module that speed the design and analysis of 3D automotive lighting models, as well as options for simulating vehicle headlamp glare effects as perceived by the human eye.

Synopsys has announced that it is accelerating automotive SoC development with a broad portfolio of silicon-proven IP for automotive applications. The DesignWare IP portfolio includes Ethernet AVB, LPDDR4, MIPI CSI-2 and DSI, HDMI, PCIe, USB, mobile storage, logic libraries, embedded memories, Non-Volatile Memories (NVM), data converters, Synopsys ARC EM processors with Safety Enhancement Package (SEP), EV vision processors and the Sensor and Control IP Subsystem. The portfolio meets key automotive functional safety requirements today and is being further enhanced to address AEC-Q100 and TS 16949 requirements. With the DesignWare IP, SoC designers can accelerate their functional safety assessments and meet the high quality levels required in automotive applications such as ADAS and infotainment.

NVM IP is 75% smaller than alternatives & reduces test times by 3X

Claiming to be up to 75% smaller than alternative NVM IP solutions, the DesignWare AEON Trim NVM IP for high-voltage processes has been launched by Synopsys. Faster programming times reduce NVM test times by 3X compared to alternative NVM solutions, enabling designers to reduce production test times and minimize test costs for automotive and industrial ICs.

Synopsys Introduces DesignWare ARC EM SEP Processor for Safety-Compliant Automotive Systems

Synopsys, Inc. today announced availability of the new DesignWare ARC EM SEP (Safety Enhancement Package) Processor core for automotive safety-compliant applications. The 32-bit ARC EM SEP processor is based on the highly efficient ARC EM4 core. It delivers performance up to 300 MHz and power consumption as low as 16 mW/MHz on typical 65-nanometer (nm) low power silicon processes, with integrated hardware safety features that enable ASIL D compliance in support of the ISO 26262 standard. In addition, the DesignWare ARC MetaWare Compiler helps software developers accelerate the development of ISO 26262-compliant code and is undergoing ASIL D readiness certification by SGS-TUV Saar, a leading independent safety certification company. The combination of a safety-enhanced processor and compiler makes the ARC EM SEP core ideally suited for system-on-chips (SoCs) designed for embedded automotive applications such as movement and acceleration sensors, advanced driver assistance systems and electric power steering.
