Renault And Qualcomm Announce Memorandum Of Understanding On Wireless Electric Vehicle Charging Technology

Qualcomm Incorporated and Renault s.a.s, today announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) concerning their co-operation on the Wireless Electric Vehicle Charging (WEVC) London trial and preliminary studies of the integration of Qualcomm Halo WEVC technology into some Renault vehicles. Renault will also join the London trial steering committee.

This week, the buzz for one of 2012’s most eagerly-anticipated cars continues to grow as Renault announces the ten shortlisted entries from the student design competition to tie in with the launch of the 100% electric vehicle, the Twizy. The unique style of the two-seater run-around has captured creative imaginations across the country, but stakes are high for finalists as the designs are now open to the general public to cast their votes to find the lucky winners. The top prize will give one student £9,000, enough money to cover a years’ worth of tuition fees, with runners up eligible for a weekend for two in Paris, and £250 in French Connection vouchers.
