ECWFG Series Contributes to Automotive Applications
With the advent of the Electric Vehicle market, Panasonic has capitalized on its burgeoning Film dielectric technology, to create new products for on-board charging and powertrain electronics. The new AEC-Q200 qualified ECWFG series from Panasonic features an operating temperature range of -40°C to 110°C; a rated voltage of 630V.DC, and a nominal capacitance range of 1.0µF to 4.7µF. This enables it to cater to most of the high frequency and high current circuitry in this segment.

Pushing the frontiers of knowledge at the SpaceX Hyperloop competition
Panasonic Industry has announced its sponsorship of the WARR Hyperloop team from the Technical University in Munich (TUM) which is taking part in the third annual SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition this summer. The Hyperloop is a new transportation concept for a high speed train to travel in a near-vacuum tube. The vacuum-tube allows the capsule to travel at supersonic speed - faster than any commercial train or car in the foreseeable future.

The TUfast Racing Team from Technical University Munich (TU Munich) will be sponsored by Panasonic Automotive & Industrial Systems in the Formula SAE/Formula Student racing competition for the second consecutive year. The TUfast Racing Team uses Panasonic’s product portfolio including Soft Pyrolytic Graphite Sheet (SoftPGS) which is a Thermal Interface Material (TIM), the Grid-EYE infrared array thermal sensor, as well as different passive components such as resistors and capacitors.

Panasonic Software Development Process Certified for ISO 26262 Automotive Functional Safety Standard

Panasonic Corporation has announced that its software development processes have been certified for ISO 26262[1], a functional safety[2] standard for road vehicles, by TUV SUD in Germany, a third-party certification authority. Panasonic's automotive equipment and device software development processes have been recognized as compliant with up to the highest Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL-D) defined in ISO 26262. To obtain the certification, Panasonic collaborated with Toshiba Corporation and Witz Corporation, and all three companies were granted with certificates around the same time.
