A new 1/2.7" 2.3MP CMOS digital image sensor with an active-pixel array of 1,936H x 1,188V has been introduced by ON Semiconductor. According to the company, the AR0239 produces clear and sharp digital images in challenging bright and low light conditions. This, along with its ability to capture continuous video and single frames, makes it a suitable choice for many applications including security and surveillance systems, body cameras and vehicle DVRs (dash cameras).

Sensor technology detects water leaks during vehicle production
The collaboration between ON Semiconductor and RFMicron has expanded in order to develop a complete in-line vehicle production leak detection solution. The RFM5126 Moisture Intrusion Detection System uses battery-free, wireless sensors to detect in-vehicle water leaks caused by incorrect assembly. Detecting leaks and assembly issues before a vehicle leaves the factory is critical to improving outgoing quality and to avoiding customer warranty issues.

Drive 3-phase BLDC motors in automotive applications
ON Semiconductor has expanded its automotive Power Integrated Module (PIM) portfolio with a device which contains six 40V, 30A MOSFETs configured as a three-phase bridge with an additional 40V, 30A high-side reverse battery protection MOSFET. The MOSFETs are mounted onto a Direct Bonded Copper (DBC) substrate, resulting in a compact module with excellent thermal performance taking up only half of the board space used by an equivalent discrete solution.

Expanding its portfolio of motor controllers, ON Semiconductor has announced a high performance and feature-packed three-phase BLDC motor controller. The LV8907UW integrates gate drivers for six N-channel MOSFETs and a dual-stage charge pump for 100% duty-cycle operation. It supports an operating voltage range from 5.5 to 20V (4.5 to 40V transient).
