MEET the next step in urban mobility at LCV 2018
MAHLE Powertrain is set to show off the latest step in its powertrain development programme at this year’s CENEX LCV show (12th – 13th September 2018). The engineering services provider’s stand will showcase the MAHLE Efficient Electric Transport (MEET) demonstrator vehicle. Seen as the next step in urban mobility, MEET combines agility, compactness and efficiency to create an economically viable electric vehicle purposely designed for inner-city driving.

Industry chief open’s UK drive emissions test centre
A £8.3m vehicle development and testing facility has been constructed by MAHLE Powertrain at its Northampton site. The centre, which benefited from a £2.1m investment from SEMLEP’s Local Growth Fund, will allow manufacturers to develop and test their vehicles on a new 4WD chassis dyno while being subjected to a wide range of altitude and climatic conditions.

MAHLE Powertrain boosts its 2018 Formula Student involvement
MAHLE Powertrain has further increased its support for the Institute of Mechanical Engineer’s (IMechE) Formula Student event by pledging to sponsor three of the teams entering this year’s event, an increase from one team in previous years. Following a host of competitive sponsorship pitches, the engineering firm has decided to back Cardiff Racing, The University of Birmingham Racing and Team Bath Racing Electric. All three teams have strong Formula Student credentials, with Cardiff looking to retain its 2017 crown.

The UK's first real driving emissions centre gathers pace
The next stage in the development of the UK’s first Real Driving Emissions Centre (RDEC) is complete, after MAHLE Powertrain took delivery of a new four-wheel drive chassis dynamometer. The product, manufactured and supplied by HORIBA UK, enables MAHLE to conduct fully certified vehicle emissions tests to all the latest international standards, including the new Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP).
