Do you trust driverless technology?

How much do you trust technology? Well it seems not that much, according to a new study by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, the majority of people (66%) would be uncomfortable travelling in a driverless car at 70mph. The news follows last week’s announcement that the Government has awarded a contract to TRL to test platoons of driverless lorries on major British roads by the end of next year.

UK university teams test Formula Student racing cars

55% reluctant to be a passenger in a driverless car

UK Government and companies such as Google, Ford and Uber are all championing driverless car technology, but according to this latest public survey much more work is needed to convince the public of the benefits of driverless vehicles. According to the survey, 55% of the 2002 people surveyed said they were unlikely to want to be a passenger of a driverless car.
