Helsinki is studying the use of e-scooters and bike sharing with a data experiment. The goal is to understand how micro-mobility services are used in the city, and to experiment with how this kind of data could support the development of safe and sustainable mobility.

During the spring and summer of 2020, smart solution pilots will be carried out in the Urban Eco Island -project. In mid May, drone filming was tested in the identification of barnacle goose nesting habits in the Harakka island which is a typical nesting location for Helsinki’s barnacle goose strain.

Helsinki has been determinedly testing robot buses since 2016. The pilots have developed and expanded year by year. This year, you can get on a self-driving bus in smart city district Kalasatama and on a record-long 2.5km route in the most eastern district Vuosaari.
