Nissan LEAF charges ahead with five star results in safety tests

More car manufacturers in step with higher pedestrian safety standards

In the latest set of Euro NCAP results, the BMW 3 Series, Hyundai i30, Mazda CX-5 and Peugeot 208 have received Euro NCAP’s maximum five star rating. All four vehicles show that car makers are rising to Euro NCAP’s challenging 2012 5 star requirements, especially in the area of pedestrian protection where the thresholds have been significantly increased this year.

Euro NCAP Announces The Results For Twelve New Vehicles Including First 5 Star Rating For a Pick-Up

This month’s top scorers with five stars are the Audi Q3, BMW 1 series, Chevrolet Captiva, Fiat Freemont, Ford Ranger, Hyundai Veloster, Mercedes M-Class, Opel/Vauxhall Astra and Opel/Vauxhall Zafira Tourer, Lancia Thema and Toyota Yaris. The Lancia Voyager was awarded four stars.
