AVX announces a series of axial leaded, hermetically sealed wet electrolytic tantalum capacitors that achieve supercapacitor CV values in environments up to +125°C. Utilising high CV tantalum powders and a well-established wet tantalum design, the TWD High Temp Max Cap (HTMC) series capacitors deliver exceptional electrical and mechanical stability, achieving extended operational lifetimes of up to 10,000h at +85°C, rated voltage.

Expanding its high-reliability TWA series, AVX has introduced high voltage COTS Plus axial-leaded, wet electrolytic tantalum capacitors. Featuring a high capacitance cathode system that enables high CV levels in DSCC-compatible case sizes and new ratings as high as 4700µF/25V, 3000µF/50V, 2200µF/60V, 1000µF/75V and 750µF/100V, the capacitors are suited for use in high-reliability defence, avionics, radar and power supply applications.

Polymer chip capacitors meet challenging 125°C lifetime stability test
AVX Corporation has introduced the robust TCQ Series automotive conductive polymer chip capacitors. Qualified to the Automotive Electronics Council’s AEC-Q200 specification for passive components, the TCQ Series meets the AEC’s challenging 125°C lifetime stability test and humidity bias testing at 85°C and 85% relative humidity for up to 1,000 hours.

AVX has released a COTS+ version of its TCR Professional Series polymer tantalum chip capacitors. Designed for use in critical military systems, the TCB series features conductive polymer electrodes, which enable extremely low ESR and reduce the potential for ignition failure. Each batch undergoes lot conformance testing and additional reliability level verification in order to provide higher reliability than standard polymer tantalum capacitors.

A series of high voltage, automotive grade, MLC, radial-leaded capacitors has been introduced by AVX. The SV series capacitors are designed with C0G (NP0) Class I dielectric materials, which exhibit an extremely low dissipation factor, providing excellent high rms current handling capabilities with minimal power losses in medium to high power resonant converters.
