Expanding the company's VMx precision resistor family with gold-plated contacts, Isabellenhütte has introduced the VMx-A series. These gold-plated low-ohmic resistors are suitable for mounting with conductive adhesive on high-temperature circuit boards, as well as for component mounting by means of reflow and IR soldering.

The advantage of the gold-plating is that it allows models such as the VMP-A to be used in high-temperature applications. That makes it suited for high-density integration applications and enables bonding with high-temperature circuit boards. The established and gold-plated series have very high pulse-load capacities and outstanding long-term stability.

The VMP-A is certified according to the AEC-Q200 quality standard for electrical components in the automotive industry. Thanks to its small size (type 2010: 5.08x2.54x0.4mm), high load capacity and precision, it is a popular choice for automobile engine and transmission modules. Further applications for the VMP-A include power hybrids and power modules (DCB ceramic) in frequency converters. The gold-plated VMP-A resistor has a constant load capacity of up to 2W at 110°C and can handle a constant current of up to 20A. It operates over a temperature range from -55 to +170°C.
