A TVS diode, designed specifically to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by load dump and other transient voltage events, has been released by Littelfuse. The SLD series TVS diode, which is AEC-Q101 qualified, offers a 5000W (10/1000μs) or 2200W (load dump) peak pulse power dissipation rating in a standard P600 package.
This combination of compact design and high electrical performance allows circuit designers to upgrade circuit protection in existing designs or provide more robust load dump protection for new designs. The device meets international standards of the automotive industry, making it suitable for protecting sensitive automotive systems from load dump and other transient voltage events.
Operating up to a junction temperature of 175°C, the TVS diode ensures maximum reliability in automotive and high reliability applications. Both uni-directional and bi-directional polarity devices offer from 10 to 60V standoff voltage, fulfilling all design requirements for automotive applications. The SLD series TVS diode is particularly suitable for DC power and ESD protection in automotive electronics such as ECU, TCU, BCM, sensors and entertainment systems.
“The SLD series TVS diode is AEC-Q101 qualified, which makes it very well suited for high reliability applications. It offers peak pulse power dissipation ratings that are suitable for automotive applications,” said Charlie Cai, Global Product Manager, Automotive TVS diode product line, Littelfuse. “It helps automotive power systems to pass the 5a and 5b surge tests operationally as specified by ISO7637-2 and ISO16750. These standards are widely used in the automotive industry as the basis for transient specifications.”
The SLD series TVS diode is available in quantities of 800 (tape and reel packaging) and 100 (bulk packaging). Sample quantities are available on request.
