Vishay Intertechnology has announced that the MC AT professional series automotive thin film chip resistors are AEC-Q200 qualified over resistances from 1Ω to 1MΩ. Operating over a temperature range from -55 to +175°C, the resistors are designed to deliver stability under harsh environmental conditions in automotive and industrial applications, rated for 1,000 hours at 175°C.

Typical applications for the devices include: engine control units, climate control, braking systems, power supplies, lighting and sensors in the automotive market; industrial and medical measurement equipment; and telecomms base stations.

The MC AT resistors feature operating voltages of 50-200V, tolerances down to ±0.5%, TCR down to ±25ppm/K, excellent moisture and sulphur resistivity and 1000V ESD capability. The devices provide a high power rating of 400mW at +85°C in the 1206 case size for increased reliability compared to competing devices typically offering power ratings to 250mW at +70°C ambient.

RoHS-compliant and approved to EN 140401-801, the MC AT professional resistors are compatible with processing on automatic SMD assembly systems, lead (Pb)-free and tin/lead (Sn/Pb) reflow and vapour-phase soldering processes.

Samples and production quantities of the MC AT professional resistors are available now in standard case sizes from 0402 to 1206, with lead times of six weeks for larger orders.
