The 10th August was a big day for Schurter, as the company successfully passed the certification audits according to the new IATF 16949:2016 automotive standard. This new standard of the IATF (International Automotive Task Force) demands the highest system and process quality standards of a company.

Certifications are the mark of distinction for a company. They recognise a defined quality level. The IATF 16949:2016 automotive standard represents one of the strictest and most demanding certifications.

Schurter approached this certification with the clear objective of further development of its own company. Schurter aims to engage in continuous improvement in order to meet the steadily growing requirements of its customers now and in the future.

After scrupulous analyses, internal workflows were optimised. The documentation for all products and production processes was refined down to the most minute detail. Even management was included and held accountable. In the future, there will be a greater integration into all process and production phases.

The interdisciplinary and process-oriented aspects are gaining in importance. The goal is clearly defined: The reliability of the processes is being increased, allowing product quality to be maintained at a high and – very important – constant level. The aim is zero errors. A goal that requires a continuous optimisation process.

Thus, this certification is not important just for automotive customers. It is important for all Schurter customers.
