Leak-proof air conditioning lines are a prerequisite for the reliable operation of automotive air conditioning systems. Therefore, suppliers have to ensure that defective parts are separated from good ones prior to shipping the product to the customer. For a renowned automotive supplier, Schreiner ProTech developed a labeling system that can be easily integrated into the testing process. Leak-proof lines are provided with a flag-type label. This allows them to be immediately identified. In addition, this solution makes the entire process leaner and more efficient.
At the end of the production process air conditioning lines are subjected to a pressure test to check whether or not they are leak-proof. Schreiner ProTech designed a solution for this process that reliably identifies defective lines by means of a labeling station which is integrated into the test equipment. While pressure-testing the lines, the testing unit automatically sends a signal to a printer if the line satisfies the stringent requirements. Only if the line has been found to be leak-proof the printer prints a label which is immediately wrapped around the air conditioning line as a flag. If the line is not okay, the testing process is automatically stopped and the defective part segregated. The label also contains key data in the form of a barcode for identification and tracking purposes. The readability of these codes is immediately checked by a scanner.

The integration of the labeling into the testing process results in a complete, easy to operate system which enables efficient and reliable quality inspection
