top performing apprentices from Hyundai UK’s Apprentice Programme have been honoured at the Company’s sixth annual awards, which took place on Friday, October 5.
The Best Apprentice winners were:

Year Three – Charlie Marris, Read Hyundai
Most Improved Apprentice Awards went to:
Year One - Jermaine Mitchell, Premier Autocentres
Year Two – Bilal Uddin, Pebley Beach
Year Three – Toby Bishop, Wight Motors
Nick Tunnell, Aftersales Director, Hyundai UK said: “The awards aim to recognise the hard work and endeavour of our trainees but also to encourage top class servicing standards from the technicians of the future. As our business grows, so do the demands of our customers and it is imperative that we develop the skills, knowledge and pride of our dealer network from the ground up.”
There are currently 29 apprentices participating in a three-year training programme, delivered through Hyundai’s Training Academy. Throughout the year, the apprentices are assessed through theory based tests and through tutor observation. The assessments focus on practical ability and delivery as well as overall attitude and participation.
After the programme is completed, each successful apprentice is ready to join the dealer network armed with a Level 3 Technical Certificate, a Hyundai-certified Technician status, an F-Gas Certification and an ATA Service & Maintenance Qualification.
The Apprentice Scheme is run by the Hyundai Academy. Opened in July 2011, the training facility has been designed specifically to train Hyundai’s UK dealership staff from apprentice technicians to Dealer Principals, covering all technical, sales and service disciplines.
