Delphi Automotive is supplying innovative technologies to several vehicles being introduced at this year's Geneva Motor Show. From diesel and gasoline engine management systems to active safety technology and thermal innovations to electrical/electronic distribution systems, Delphi is helping drivers stay safe and remain connected while lessening the environmental impact of the vehicle they drive.
•SAFE – Helping save lives: Delphi's ground breaking collision mitigation system (CMS) is the world's first driver assistance sensor system that automatically activates a vehicle's full braking power to avoid or considerably reduce the effects of a collision with pedestrians and vehicles. Available on several Volvo models (S60, S80, V60, V70, XC60, XC70) including the new V40 unveiled at Geneva, Delphi worked closely with Volvo Cars to develop this system. Delphi developed the sensor system while functions were developed by Volvo. The CMS uses unique algorithms to combine and process data inputs from the system's electronically scanning radar and forward looking camera to detect and classify objects. Subsequently, the system determines an appropriate mitigation strategy and enacts a defined set of countermeasures defined by Delphi or in this case by Volvo Cars. CMS enables multiple safety features including full speed range adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with full autonomous braking for pedestrians and vehicles, pre-crash sensing, lane departure warning (lane keeping aid on the V40), as well as automatic head lamp control and traffic sign recognition. These unique capabilities have contributed to Volvo being again recognized for its active safety systems. The rear and side detection system featured on the new V40 uses a single radar to enable three features developed by Delphi: blind spot detection, lane change aid, and cross traffic alert. This competitively priced radar is the first on the market that can perform all three functions using 76GHz frequency.

•SAFE – Broader affordability of active safety technologies: A great illustration of the broader affordability of active safety technologies is the new Ford Kuga. Though many vehicle manufacturers offer features like adaptive cruise control on premium vehicles, Ford is the first vehicle manufacturer to extend the benefits of Delphi's electronically scanning radar to a broader market. Enabling Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Alert, Delphi's Electronically Scanning Radar is now enhancing the safety of drivers in a wider range of vehicle segments and is featured on several Ford models.

•GREEN – Increased passenger comfort with reduced power consumption of the air conditioning system. The new Ferrari F12 Berlinetta features Delphi's air conditioning system and automatic dual-zone comfort control which includes a highly-efficient electronically controlled compact variable compressor (CVC). This 7 piston CVC provides a 16 percent improvement in efficiency while increasing cooling performance and lowering power consumption allowing passengers to stay cool even at high vehicle speeds.

•CONNECTED – Staying connected with Delphi's MyFi™ Connected Navigation Radio: Connectivity is a growing priority for drivers and passengers. Delphi's MyFi™ connected navigation radio (CNR) open architecture offers OEMs flexibility and vehicle differentiation. Offering the ability to easily adjust media center capability to meet the unique needs of individual vehicle models, the flexible media center design is based on Delphi's scalable hardware platform and is featured on several Audi models, including the new Audi A6 Allroad.
