Connector company founder Franz Binder has died
Franz Binder, the founder of specialist connector manufacturer binder, has died at the age of 90. He was born the youngest of four children on 22 April 1929 in Neckarsulm and completed his apprenticeship as a lathe operator at Kolbenschmidt in Neckarsulm in 1947. After more than ten years at Kolbenschmidt and his successful master’s certificate examination, he became self-employed on 1 January 1960.

Hamamatsu Photonics expanding to meet demand
Hamamatsu Photonics will construct a new factory building at the Shingai Factory (Shingai-cho, Minami-ku, Hamamatsu City, Japan) to cope with increasing sales demand for opto-semiconductors, X-ray image sensors and X-ray flat panel sensors. The new factory building will be completed in August 2020.
