Future technology development agreed to optimise train flow

Provider of Embedded Computing Technology (ECT), Kontron, announced that it has signed a framework agreement with Bombardier Transportation. This agreement extends the previous preferred technology supplier Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) going beyond the initial rail control solutions scope into a joint design and development relationship. 

The two companies have worked together since 1996 with Kontron supplying application-ready embedded computing technology for a number of Bombardier's prominent rail control projects and wayside rail applications, deployed throughout the world.

Kontron's comprehensive portfolio of TRACe products deliver standardised and fully validated platforms that meet a broad range of transportation system requirements. In addition, Kontron's modular open-architecture approach in designing its VPX redundant platforms makes them highly scalable and secure with the ability to adapt to any type of transportation application, further helping to future-proof application investments.
