Reducing switching losses and over-dissipation in automotive and telecomms applications, Vishay has announced 27 4-10A FRED Pt Hyperfast and Ultrafast recovery rectifiers. The AEC-Q101-qualified devices combine extremely fast and soft recovery characteristics with low leakage current and low forward voltage drop, typically down to 0.72V in single- and dual-die configurations.

Offering reverse voltages of 100, 200 and 600V, the FRED Pt rectifiers are optimised for DC/DC converters and PFC in automotive ECUs, ABS, LED lighting and telecomms DC/DC bricks. A planar structure and platinum-doped lifetime control guarantee high overall performance, ruggedness and reliability in these applications.

Specified for output and snubber operation, the 27 devices provide reverse recovery time down to 24ns and operate to a maximum temperature of +175°C The RoHS-compliant and halogen-free rectifiers feature an MSL moisture level of 1 per J-STD-020 and LF maximum peak of +260°C. They meet the JESD 201 class 2 whisker test and are suited for automated placement and enable AOI in automotive systems.

Supplied in the compact, low-profile SMPC (TO-277A) eSMP series package, the rectifiers save significant PCB space while increasing power density to lower overall costs (compared to devices with DPAK packages).

The FRED Pt rectifiers are available now for sampling and in production quantities, with lead times of 8-12 weeks for larger orders.
