Visteon Corporation is presenting its latest automotive infotainment platforms during the 2013 International CES from Jan. 8-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
At its exhibit in Central Plaza (booth CP#20), Visteon is highlighting its mid-range infotainment platform that targets global vehicle applications needing enhanced connectivity, navigation, services and entertainment features. This infotainment functionality is accessible to drivers and passengers through Visteon's branded human-machine interaction (HMI) while also offering the infrastructure to easily incorporate OEM unique HMI requirements.

In addition to the standard audio functions provided on today's infotainment platforms, consumers expect flexible in-vehicle connectivity and advanced entertainment solutions. Visteon's mid-range infotainment system not only enables multi-device connectivity, but also manages content to deliver a rich experience. To keep the vehicle technology in step with consumer electronic trends, Visteon's platform is capable of delivering system improvements and enhancements through wireless software updates.

With more consumer electronic (CE) devices being connected to automobiles, manufacturers know the importance of presenting CE device information to drivers via familiar and easy-to-use interfaces. If done well, this creates brand differentiation for the automaker. To assist in creating a unique driver experience, Visteon's team of dedicated HMI experts has developed a user interface that is simple to operate and offers vehicle manufacturers flexibility in the design.

Visteon's HMI solution positions frequently used controls closest to the driver and reduces the steps needed to complete actions. To keep drivers focused on the road, the HMI includes an efficient single-level menu structure, allowing for easy access to sub menu functions. To meet the demands of global platforms, Visteon's HMI provides regional customization while maintaining the global HMI brand, look and feel. Controls have been strategically positioned to be easily accessible in both large and small, and right-hand and left-hand drive vehicles.
We continue to evolve our infotainment solutions to meet rapidly changing customer needs, said Christian Feltgen, Visteon's global director of cockpit electronics. This enhancement of the user experience allows us to expand our capabilities and grow with our customers as they extend their platform to global markets.
