HARTING plans to connect to a new market on the 14th June when it starts a three-day show on stand A42 of the Seawork International exhibition at Mayflower Park, Southampton. HARTING’s expertise in developing electrical connectivity products for harsh environments is highlighted in a range of components suitable to the Marine and Shipbuilding industry.

HARTING has identified a range of industrial connectors that can withstand important environmental factors such as vibration, salt and EMC. This includes the robust Han Eco range of outdoor connectors and the IP 68 / IP 69K Han HPR range made of die-cast aluminium with corrosion resistant coating. In addition, HARTING’s Han range with hoods and housings is GL certified.

Also on show, will be the unmanaged eCon range of Ethernet Switches that are DNV certified for application on ships, high speed and light craft. The robust eCon range has an extended temperature range to withstand challenging environmental demands.

Natalie Thomas, Marketing Manager of HARTING UK, said; “Our products have been used for many marine applications in recent years, and it’s become apparent that there is significant customer demand for reliable connection technology within the industry. We’ve now identified marine applicable products with high ingress protection ratings that make them completely suited to the demands placed on electrical, electronic and data connections exposed to marine conditions.”

HARTING connectors and customised solutions can already be found in offshore wind farms, on ships, on dock-sides and on freight container systems. With expertise in robust finger-safe maintenance connections, vibration resistance and ingress protection, HARTING provides marine engineers with both off-the-peg connectors and custom-build cabinet solutions
