Beginning with version 4.0 of the diagnostic tester, Vector Informatik is offering users a remote diagnostic solution that is fast and easy to use. On test drives or in foreign production plants, or right at a customer's vehicle in the service shop, the diagnostic expert can access a vehicle, systematically determine the cause of a problem and quickly solve it – without even having to be there physically.

Indigo is an easy-to-use diagnostic tester which hides the complexity of the diagnostic protocols. From version 4.0 on, Indigo supports interactive remote diagnostics with Indigo Remote. In this case, the classic diagnostic tester is replaced by a local access point on the vehicle. It can be started up quickly and easily, e.g. by a test driver or a garage worker. A remote server on the Internet serves as a communication centre; it relays diagnostic requests and responses between the vehicle and the actual diagnostic tester. The actual diagnostic tester is located remotely at the expert's location. Neither the diagnostic data nor the expert needs to be sent on a trip – and yet it is possible to directly access the vehicle quickly and without complications.

Another advantage of remote diagnostics with Indigo Remote is that the diagnostic data, test sequences and security algorithms remain in a secure environment – all control, interpretation and evaluation tasks are performed on the expert's computer. This guarantees a high level of data security. Certain technical measures are also implemented to ensure large bandwidth and low latency.

Indigo Remote can be used wherever the opinion of an expert needs to be obtained and diagnostic access to a vehicle is necessary despite long distances. This reduces the time required for diagnostics and repairs, which - reduces costs and increasing customer satisfaction.
