Designed to meet the increasing demand for barrier sealed copper cables across the automotive industry, the silicone-free RADOX anti-capillary cable has been launched by HUBER+SUHNER. The anti-capillary cable stops liquids in the vehicle, such as oil, water or AdBlue, being conveyed through the cable and damaging the electronics and sensors at the connected end.

A grease-like filling material inside the cable conductor prevents the capillary effect in the core. HUBER+SUHNER have developed this filling material and, since it is silicone free, is not affected by transmission fluid. The cable also features an electron-beam cross-linked RADOX insulating material, making it particularly resistant to high and low temperatures, ozone, weathering and has excellent abrasion resistance.

The cable is available with tinned or plain copper wires with diameters from 0.5 to 1.5 mm2. It can be easily crimped or ultrasonically welded to connect it to the connector, thus offering a more cost competitive, waterproof connectivity solution as a replacement for waterproof connectors or the over-moulding of cable/plug connections.
