With the PXI platform’s capability for running real-time operating systems or deploying code to FPGAs, it is also well suited to use earlier in the development process, particularly for complex devices like electronic control units (ECUs) and full authority digital electronics control (FADEC) systems.

NI Direct Injector Driver System Enables Intelligent Fuel Delivery

National Instruments has announced the NI Direct Injector Driver System, a full solution for engine control that are delivered to the customer ready to use. Digital command signals from an ECU are read on an NI 9411 digital input module and interpreted in a software application loaded on an NI CompactRIO controller. These digital commands are then used to schedule output signals from Drivven DI Driver modules to direct injectors.

The biggest advantage is the automated testing and logging of more than four tests with just one system. The architecture of the application is scalable; hence, the number of tests can be easily increased. Previously, such tests were carried out using printed circuit boards with the manpower required to intermittently run performance checks. NI and JSOL Help Electric Motor Engineers Save Time, Money With HIL Modelling
National Instruments has introduced the JMAG-RT add-on for NI VeriStand, which gives engineers the same fidelity provided by proven JMAG models, but in real-time for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing of electric motors. To reduce spending on field-testing physical motors, engineers can use NI VeriStand with the JMAG-RT add-on in the lab to easily create stimulus profiles and perform data logging and automated HIL testing with real-time electric motor simulation.
