Combining current handling up to 98.8A with exceptionally low DC resistance down to 0.45mΩ, the XAL1010 series of high-temperature, shielded power inductors have been announced by Coilcraft. Available with thirteen inductance values from 0.22-15µH, the series is offered in a rugged, molded cube-shaped package measuring just 10.0x11.3x10.0mm.

Additionally, Coilcraft offers the lower-profile XAL1060 series for applications with limited height restrictions. These inductors offer excellent current handling of up to 120A and DC resistance as low as 0.50mΩ.

Both the XAL1010 series and the lower-profile XAL1060 series are AEC-Q200 Grade 1 qualified. This means that they can operate over temperature ranges from -40 to +125°C and are therefore suitable for harsh automotive environments.

With soft saturation characteristics, the inductors are also suited for VRM/VRD applications. Featuring RoHS compliant tin-silver (96.5/3.5) over copper terminations, the XAL1010 and XAL1060 series offer a maximum reflow temperature of 260°C. COTS Plus tin-silver-copper and tin-lead terminations are also available.

Coilcraft offers free evaluation samples and parts are available from stock. Contact the company for pricing information.
