Vishay Intertechnology has introduced six rectifiers in the compact, low-profile, surface-mount SMF (DO-219AB) eSMP package. Offering forward currents of 1 and 2A as well as low forward voltage drops and leakage currents, the AEC-Q101-qualified devices reduce power losses and improve efficiency in automotive applications.

The devices include one standard, three Schottky barrier, and two Hyperfast FRED Pt rectifiers for high-frequency DC/DC converter, freewheeling diode, and power line polarity protection applications in automotive systems, including engine control units, ABS and LED lighting.

With a compact footprint and low profile, the devices' SMF package saves significant board space compared to standard SMA, SMB, and SMC packages, while increasing power density to reduce overall costs.

The SS1F4HM3, SS1FH6HM3, and SS2FH6HM3 Schottky rectifiers offer 40 and 60V reverse voltages and low forward voltage drops, down to 0.37V at 1A, 125°C. The SE10FJHM3 standard rectifier is built on an oxide planar chip technology that provides for class H3B ESD protection (over 8kV) based on the AEC-Q101-001 human body model in contact mode.

The Hyperfast VS-1EFH02HM3 and VS-2EFH02HM3 FRED Pt rectifiers feature fast and soft recovery characteristics, with recovery times down to 28ns. The devices offer breakdown voltages of 200V and low forward voltage drops down to 0.93V at 1.0A. The rectifiers feature a planar structure and platinum doped lifetime control to guarantee high overall performance, ruggedness, and reliability characteristics.

Rectifiers in the SMF package feature a maximum operation junction temperature up to +175 °C and an MSL moisture sensitivity level of 1, per J-STD-020, LF maximum peak of 260°C. Suitable for automated placement, the devices are compliant to RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU, halogen-free according to JEDEC JS709A standards, and meet the JESD 201 class 2 whisker test.
